Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

I created this painting based on my memory of a sunset I had recently viewed while driving home past the farms near where I live. The light and dusky mood of the sunset and the violet in the sky grabbed my attention. It was as if the heavens were opening up on the horizon. I felt such a calming peace and joy in those moments. There was a sense of freedom in me, as I glanced out at the horizon . A feeling of “coming home”. The memory of that sunset blazed in my mind until I could try to get it down on canvas days later. I hope this painting brings you some peace.
